INTRODUCTION AND OVERVIEW
Manual, 89 pages. Welcome to the Develop a Positive Attitude: Live
a Healthier and More Productive Life, 2nd Edition, a pre-approved, self-directed
learning program. It is designed to help you earn 10 Level 2 Continuing
Professional Education Units (CPEUs). To get the most out of this program,
it is suggested that you follow these six steps:
Step 1: Review the objectives.
Step 2: Assess your current knowledge by completing the pre-self-analysis
questions in the beginning of Chapter 1.
Step 3: Score your current knowledge by comparing your answers to the
scoring instructions that follow the pre-self-analysis questions.
Step 4: Read this manual.
Step 5: Assess what you have learned by completing the post-self-assessment
questions.
Step 6: Compare your answers to the answer key. If you scored at least
80 percent (24 questions) correct, you have passed this program and
are ready to transfer your answers to the CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION
UNITS (CPEU) REPORTING FORM. If you scored less than 80 percent correct,
watch/listen and read again until you score at least 80 percent correct.
After you have successfully completed the program, complete the CPEU
REPORTING FORM and:

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Wolf J. Rinke, PhD, RDN, CSP is the president and founder of Wolf Rinke Associates, a company that has provided high-quality CPE programs to nutrition and dietetic professionals since 1990.
He earned a BS at Drexel University, an MS at Iowa State University, a Ph.D. in Continuing and Vocational Education (Adult Ed) at the University of Wisconsin, and interned at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He participated in a test item writer workshop sponsored by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
Wolf is a past Adjunct Associate Professor, Graduate School of Management & Technology, University of Maryland, and a former Adjunct Faculty Member, School of Continuing Studies, The Johns Hopkins University.
He is the past president of the DC Dietetic Association and has been honored by the Academy with the Award for Excellence in the practice of Management; the Outstanding Dietitian of the Year Award; the Outstanding Service Award; and has delivered the Lenna Frances Cooper Lecture.
At the Academy he has served in numerous leadership roles including Chair, Scholarship Committee, DBC; Chair, Communication Committee, CDR; Chair, Area Coordinating Committee, COE; Chair, COE, and member of the Resource for Education Programs Committee; Honors Committee; CDR, Licensure Panel and Ethical Practices Task Force; CDR; House of Delegates and Board of Directors.
