Welcome to the pre-approved, accredited CPE program for Younger Next Week--Your Ultimate Rx to Reverse the Clock, Boost Energy and Look and Feel Younger in 7 Days. The program consists of a book of the same title by Elisa Zied, MS, RDN, CDN and this study guide. This CPE program is designed to help you counsel clients to reverse the clock, boost energy and look and feel younger in 7 days. It is also designed to help you earn 16 Level 2, Continuing Professional Education Units (CPEUs).
To get the most out of this CPE program, it is suggested that you adhere to the following four steps:

  • Review the objectives in this study guide.
  • Read and study the book.
  • Assess what you have learned by answering the self-assessment questions in this study guide.
  • Compare your answers to the answer key, which you will find at the end of the study guide. If you scored at least 80% (40 questions) correct, you have completed the program and are ready to transfer your answers to the CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION REPORTING FORM in front of this study guide. If you scored less than 80% correct, re-read the appropriate sections of the book and until you score at least 80% correct.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this CPE program you will be better able to:

  • Advise clients on appropriate fluid intake during physical activity;
  • Apply research findings when counseling clients about prevention and treatment of chronic diseases such as coronary artery disease, anemia, hypertension, cancer, and diabetes;
  • Communicate information connecting lifestyle and nutrition with aging;
  • Provide recommendations for daily fluid needs and healthiest fluid options;
  • Evaluate individuals' diets and advise them on their specific nutrient needs;
  • Translate research information about nutrients and sleep into practical dietary recommendations;
  • Assist vegetarian clients in meeting their nutritional needs;
  • Identify antioxidants and phytochemicals in various foods and suggest ways to incorporate these foods into a daily diet;
  • Apply knowledge about functions of vitamins and minerals in relation to health;
  • Suggest nutrition and lifestyle strategies that may help clients improve their mood;
  • Provide appropriate guidelines for weight management in obese clients;
  • Plan healthier food choices for clients that meet their individual lifestyles;
  • Advise clients on coping strategies to achieve relaxation.
